SEO: Search Engine Optimization 101.

SEO is traffic. "Free Traffic".  I say free because you will still pay for it, either in time or money, but, unlike direct advertising, you are not paying for it by the click.

Here is an example of SEO:
If I have a web page, and all my sales copy is in a .jpg picture because I think that makes the sales copy pop, than I could be loosing out on free Search engine traffic. Why? Because search engines cannot read images. At least not yet. But, if I change that to text, then suddenly the search engines, like the great and powerful Google, will suddenly know what my page is supposed to be about. Then, they send targeted traffic your way.

OK, that's the way i is supposed to work. In reality, and example like that is just a small step of a long journey if you truly want free traffic from the search engines.
